First Baptist Church of Opelika (FBCO) is excited to invite women to attend a Friday evening and Saturday morning event that is designed to encourage the Christian walk as well as provide practical steps to ones daily life. The conference, held Friday, February 25, 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday, February 26 from 8:00am to noon will be held in the 3:16 Center at FBCO and focuses on John 13:35, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Tickets are $10 and available at the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings and in the church office, 301 South 8th Street, through Tuesday, February 22.

Friday evening will feature a wide array of desserts and a courtroom style drama examining how we as women illustrate to the world that we are believers. Several local women are working hard to prepare the performance. Directed by Amy Dorsey and Libba Herring, Mary Jo Giffen will portray the accused. The attorneys will be played by Kristy Dozier and Janice Golden. “Judge Judy” will be played by Judy Colley, and Kathleen Chapman will serve as bailiff. Witnesses are portrayed by Cathy Tidwell and Becky Stillwell. Worship music will be led by Tamara Teel and a group of energetic and talented college women.

Saturday morning, a light breakfast will be served and participants may choose to attend up to three of the following break-out sessions: The Blessing of Coupons, Caring for Aging Parents, Faith and Finances in Tough Times, Finding Your Role in Ministry, Fit for God, From Snail Mail to Email, Guilt Free Shortcuts for Healthy Living, Handling Hard Times, Investing in Christian Women through Discipleship, Listening to GOD in Prayer, Praying for & Encouraging Your Husband, Raising Righteousness in Your Home and Tough Topics for Your Teens.
